Istria is a beautiful green oasis on the northern Adriatic. It is the largest Croatian peninsula, which is splashed on three sides by the clear blue sea.
It is excellently connected by traffic. You can come here with a car in a few hours from most central European countries. It intersects the 45 th parallel; it is equally distant from the equator and from the North Pole.
It is known for its cuisine, traditional dishes that maintain its history, but also the smells and tastes originating from its fertile land. Taverns and restaurants, located in the interior of Istria, offer a unique selection of fine dishes, as well as selected local wines, among which the most famous local varieties of Malvasia and Teran should be especially mentioned.
Olives came to Istria in the time of the Greeks, in the time of ancient Rome it was known for its excellent olive oil, and this quality has been preserved to this day. You can taste both wine and olive oil in numerous wine cellars and oil mills, but also in each of the taverns where the road takes you.
